Maintaining an aquarium ecosystem (fishkeeping) is essentially the art of maintaining water quality. The fish are merely indicators of how well the water system is managed.

#Critical Parameters

Monitoring the following parameters is essential for long-term stability:

1. Ammonia (NH3) & Nitrite (NO2): Must always be zero (0 ppm).
2. Nitrate (NO3): Kept below 20-40 ppm through routine water changes or aquatic plant filtration (aquaponics).
3. pH & Hardness (GH/KH): Adjusted to the species being kept. Stability is prioritized over fluctuating ideal numbers.

We implement a measurement-based weekly maintenance cycle, where water changes are performed based on the logged Nitrate increase.
